Description: Bilingual (Vietnamese) Certified Medical Assistant - Santa Clara Market.

The Front & Back Office Medical Assistant (MA 1)is responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the clinician. Telephonic outreach to coordinate care, in addition to Taking vitals and in-person assessments; might be more hands on with patient care/back office work verses all outreach.
Medical assistant tasks - draw blood, retinal exams, vitals urine analysis - Medical Assistants should be ready to jump in and help with day to day



Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Provides front and/or back office support, greets patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner in compliance with company protocols and workflows.


• Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled and are prepared for patients visits, patient data is current and accurate, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared.


• Required to maintain accurate and complete documentation in patients electronic medical record. Interviews patient, measures vital signs and records reason for visit.


• Under the supervision of the clinician, the medical assistant will be knowledgeable in, and will competently perform diagnostic testing, for example, spirometry, Arterial Brachial Index, Monofilament, orthostatic blood pressure. Explains procedures, performs treatments, and administers prescribed medication.


• Gives injections and draws blood.


• Oversees patient check out by scheduling follow up appointments, collecting co pays when applicable, assuring paperwork is complete.


• Complete orders as directed by clinicians.


• Completes and submits referrals and authorizations. Assists patients with the scheduling of both internal and external future medical appointments. Schedules and confirms patient's appointments.


• May be required to travel based on business needs.

Anticipated work hours for this location:

8 AM - 5 PM, with a 12 - 1 PM lunch break, Monday - Friday


Saturday work may be available - candidates that are willing to work on Saturday is extremely helpful



Qualifications & Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma.


• Prior related experience is preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background of experience.


• Medical Assistant diploma (completion certification) from an accredited school of training required.


• Bilingual (Vietnamese) preferred
  
  


• Nextgen experience helpful (but can be taught.)
  
  


• The MA functions within the scope of his/her education and training.
