This position is designated for an Associate Director - Process Development and Manufacturing Technology in the Global Device and Packaging Unit. As an Associate Director - Process Development and Manufacturing Technology, you will be responsible for; but not limited to the following:
Main Responsibilities:
The Associate Director performs a lead role in the execution of significant capital projects in the Global Device and Packaging Unit. Provides leadership and technical expertise to implement automated assembly manufacturing projects in our global manufacturing network.
The Associate Director collaborates with cross functional core team and global functions as manufacturing lead to develop the appropriate device manufacturing concept and technology solutions to deploy robust manufacturing solutions.
Performs process assessment to determine appropriate manufacturing strategy, processes, and technology solutions. Works with suppliers to develop, demonstrate feasibility, and implements semi to fully automated technology solutions.
Leads the cross-platforms oversight of process development and industrialization of device manufacturing.
Provides leadership and support throughout process development, technology transfer, process validation and production scale-up for mechanical device assembly.
Leads technology development and knowledge transfer activities into internal and external manufacturing sites. Including specification and process development, supplier/equipment/technology selection, managing project through build, factory acceptance testing and qualification activities.
Ensures standardization of technical requirements for processes and production facilities across all device platforms and the entire device network - all CMOs and Sanofi sites.
Drives transversal global investigations in close proximity to industrial sites with providing technical support to investigate and assist in solving technical problems using sound engineering principles, knowledge, and experience.
The Associate Director leads the establishment of strong and proactive connections between the process development and manufacturing technologies, other GDPU functions, industrial sites, global engineering and CMOs.
Supports internal and external sites with process risk assessments to identify critical process parameters and develop control plans to mitigate risks.
Supports sites with validation plan and execution of IQ/OQ/PQ, in accordance with regulations and internal site, and company guidance and requirements. Will often support sites with continuous improvement activities to optimize efficiency, productivity, and asset utilization.
About you
Bachelor's in engineering (e.g. mechanical, electronic, automation) or equivalent. Advanced degree a plus.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in process development or manufacturing of Medical Devices in pharmaceutical or related industry.
Strong technical expertise in designing and implementing pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Experience in automation, ramp-up and troubleshooting especially for high-volume production equipment.
Proven track record in driving cross functional teams within device development / manufacturing in pharmaceutical industry.
Strong global mindset and the ability to think strategically.
Languages: Fluent in English, French or German basic knowledge is a plus
