The Child Care Worker will have the responsibility of interacting with and supervising children in a manner that promotes social, physical and intellectual growth. The Childcare Worker will also plan individual and group activities to stimulate learning, according to ages of children, and confer with parents regarding progress of children and perform other responsibilities as required.
Daily Operations
Ensure that client's children are sufficiently monitored and supervised at all times during work shift.
Planning daily activities for the children of the Rainbow Program; Preparation, serving and cleanup of snacks and meals; Assist children in the bathroom; Provide supervision of play activities; Change diapers; Deliver progress reports to parents.
Be courteous, tactful, and discrete in relating to the public, other staff, and clients.
Respect and protect client's rights (including confidentiality) and ensure that client's respect the rights of others by appropriately intervening and/or reporting when program rule violations occur.
Acquire, maintain, and practice skills regarding sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients and others contacted in carrying out job responsibilities.
Participate in funding agency training activities as required.
Acquire and maintain a functional knowledge of internal and funding agency standards of service delivery and documentation
Maintain clinical records and required paperwork in compliance with agency standards.
Assist in the collection and reporting of statistical data to funding and other agencies as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient with computer software, and hardware, copier and fax machine. Familiar with substance abuse treatment. Ability to interact professionally with public, staff and clients.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent with six months experience in a child development center or related work with newborns or toddlers.
