The Assistant Nurse Manager will provide managerial and clinical leadership to assure that all staff provide safe clinical care and have the education, methods and resources to accomplish their performance objectives with additional responsibilities managing the nursing assistant and weekend option team.

Rotations: Rotating shifts Monday - Friday, Weekends, holidays, on-call as staffing needs arise. One week administrative call 2-3/year

Required Qualifications:
A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
One to three years of progressing leadership responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills
Proficiency with computer software applications. skill in leadership/management
Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, attention to detail and thoroughness
Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other hospital departments
Demonstrates effective teaching skills for staff and patient education
One to three years scrubbing and circulating experience in the Operating Room
Professional certification in nursing field (example: CNOR) required as soon as able to sit for the exam
Desired Qualifications:
Leadership and/or manager experience
Experience working in large academic medical center
Experience working in a union environment
