Responsibilities:
Design, evaluate, and troubleshoot cellular telecom and satellite communication systems, supporting mission-critical defense technologies to meet stringent security and performance standards.
Design IP network systems, including VoIP and SIP services, and conduct troubleshooting for cellular telecom and satellite communications.
Perform requirements, functional, and performance analysis; conduct detailed trade studies.
Develop and evaluate systems and networks to ensure compliance with governmental security specifications.
Participate in Modeling and Simulation activities to validate network performance.
Research and analyze data on vendor products, COTS components, and specifications to determine design feasibility.
Lead and mentor junior team members and provide engineering support for proposals.
Guide development and test teams to ensure successful implementation and verification of network designs.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a master's degree with 3 years of experience.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of IP networking technologies, especially in cellular telecom Radio Access Networks and Core networks.
Proficiency with SIP and VoIP protocols, and experience with voice/data gateways for telecom or WAN networks.
Familiarity with 3GPP mobile network standards, particularly Core Network and Multi-Media Subsystem (MMS) elements.
Strong proficiency in requirements management and network system modeling tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively addressing issues, impacts, and corrective actions.
