Provide timely technical support to plant maintenance pertaining to troubleshooting and equipment repair.
Troubleshoot, program, install, test, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), & Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's) for various equipment.
Evaluate controls engineering problems, solve controls issues independently, investigate technical problems and establish procedures and/or corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
Manage physical installation of equipment during moves and upgrades.
Assist with equipment specifications as needed.
Generate project documentation including commissioning documents, as-built drawings, operator manuals and training material.
Coordinate with field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support.
Respond to all maintenance calls relating to control equipment.
Draft and assist with managing all engineering drawings.
Position reports to the Division Engineering Manager and Plant Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related field, preferably with controls major.
3 to 7 years' experience programing PLC, with working knowledge of machine control concepts and programming of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
Availability to work around the production hours as needed
Experience in assembly line manufacturing.
Been part of or lead Continuous Improvement team.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision.
Effective written and oral communication skills
Computer skills (MS Office, RSLogix or Siemens TIA Portal, AutoCAD required. SOLIDWORKS an asset.
Travel 10%.
