We are assisting a client of ours in their search for an experienced and highly motivated Equity Administrator with payroll experience to join their accounting team. The Equity and Payroll Administrator will oversee the equity process and serve as a backup for payroll. This role will collaborate with management across the organization to provide advisory support on equity-related topics, projects, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the stock administration function and manage the company's equity program, focusing on process improvements and automated solutions.
Oversee the management and administration of the company's stock plan including eligibility, enrollment, approvals, processing equity awards, handling vesting, exercises, settlements, tax withholdings, cancellations, terminations, and managing blackout periods.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee and equity data in the stock administration system.
Manage relationships with external equity trading platforms and transfer agents.
Ensure compliance with the terms of the company's equity plans and related internal processes.
Prepare training materials and communications to support employee understanding of equity awards programs and policies.
Reconcile monthly equity activity, including shares outstanding and share pool balances.
Participate in the preparation of the annual proxy filing by providing and reviewing equity data.
Support bi-weekly payroll for US employees, including processing and reviewing payroll submissions.
Cross-train in standard payroll processes and special payments, including terminations, bonuses, commissions, and leave of absence initiatives.
Assist in preparing and reviewing equity and payroll-related financial statement audits and internal control requests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.
5+ years of experience in stock plan administration or equity compensation management preferred.
2+ years of experience in payroll processing preferred.
