Job Description
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological assessments of children and adolescents for various learning, behavioral, and emotional problems, through the Mailman Center Psychological Assessment Service (PAS) and the Interdisciplinary Evaluation Service (IDES).
Conduct psychological assessments of children who are alleged victims of or witnesses to abuse or neglect, including both clinical and forensic interviews with children and caretakers and review of relevant records, with the Child Protection Team (CPT).
Provide clinical supervision of psychology trainees and social workers who conduct psychological and psychosocial assessments and forensic interviews of children who are alleged victims of or witnesses to abuse or neglect.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and review cases referred to the CPT and the IDES.
Present findings from evaluations at PAS and IDES in written form including recommendations to parents, school officials, and health professionals; for CPT cases, present written reports to child protective investigators, law enforcement, and the judicial system, and testify in court as needed.
Participate in clinical research activities, including collaboration on projects with other faculty, assisting with the design of projects and data collection, and preparation and submission of grant applications for funding and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Participate in education and training of psychology trainees, medical students, and pediatric residents and fellows in terms of presenting lectures and seminars, online training programs and informally teaching during clinics.
Participate in psychology internship selection committee and regular Psychology Division and Department of Pediatrics faculty meetings, as well as selected Mailman Center Interprofessional Collaboratives.
Qualifications:
APA-approved PhD (or PsyD) in clinical (or counseling) psychology and clinical internship; postdoctoral fellowship in child clinical psychology or neuropsychology; licensure in Florida (or license-eligible); board certification (or board eligible) in clinical psychology; relevant clinical experience in the field of child psychological and neuropsychological assessment and child maltreatment.
