William & Mary's Vertebrate Animal Care Unit seeks applicants for the position of Animal Care Aide. The position is part-time renewable/continuing and runs 12 months through the year (approximately 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday mornings until early afternoon). The ideal candidate will provide high quality, reliable and durable care to animals housed at the university (rodents, aquatics, small birds).
Primary responsibilities include daily animal care and husbandry: feeding/watering/cage changes, conducting health observations, facilities upkeep, and supply management. Additionally, this position will provide critical backup support during periods of staff absence (i.e., during vacation periods, and summer and winter school break). Training for this position will be provided on site. The university is under both federal and internal Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee mandate to maintain high animal care standards. Part-time employees make it possible for the university to maintain these compliance mandates.

All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
