Teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in Literature and composition. Develop news courses to enhance B.A. and M.A. curriculums. Be active in research/creative scholarly activities and provide service at multiple levels both within the university and outside the university.Essential Responsibilities
Requirements: The position of Assistant Professor of English requires a PhD degree or its foreign equivalent in Non-Western Literature and six (6) years of college-level teaching experience in Non-Western literatures.Additionally, the applicant must have the following:
Experience with dissertation and teaching area in Non-Western Literatures such as: Non-Western World Mythology, contemporary fiction in Africa and its diaspora, Postcolonial Literature with a concentration on Africa and its diaspora, contemporary Anglophone fiction, and World Literature from antiquity to the contemporary era.
Experience with infusing course content with scholarship related to underrepresented and marginalized groups.
Conference presentations and the work towards publication as evidence of a strong record of scholarship in Non-Western literatures.
