Position Summary:
The candidate will work under the supervision of Drs. Jason Hallstrom and/or Jinwoo Jang. A Postdoctoral Researcher will primarily work on a transdisciplinary, multi-institutional project to support a recently funded National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center (ERC) for Smart Streetscapes (CS3). Ideal candidates for this position should have a strong research background in one or multiple areas, such as the Internet of Things, embedded sensor networks, computer vision, large language models, smart cities, spatiotemporal data analytics, data fusion, and digital twins. Postdoctoral Researchers are expected to lead and support excellent smart city research both independently and as part of the FAU's CS3 team. It is ideal to engage and support the ERC center's workforce development. The duties and responsibilities of this position include
Conduct smart city research that aligns with the vision of the NSF ERC for CS3.
Lead and support research publications, proposals, reports, and presentations.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate student researchers.
Lead and support the management of relevant research facilities.
Other duties as assigned.
