Job Description:

Student Service Experts provide integrated student services to University students, families, and staff in the areas of billing, financial aid, and scholarships. This position will primarily work with the Online Financial Aid team to serve the online student population. The Student Service Expert will support and meet the service requirements that align with the culture and goals of the culture and goals of OU Online.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide services to the OU Online students, families, and staff through phone and email in areas of billing, financial aid, and scholarships

  • Serve as liaison between students and tribes to assist students in obtaining tribal scholarships

  • Navigate financial aid systems and CRM systems to assist students and provide

  • Adhere to federal financial aid policies in student communication and review of student files

  • Communicates with students concerning additional documentation needed to continue financial aid processing and inquiries regarding load. Responsible for reviewing financial aid emails and responding to questions

  • Initial contact for students and parents. Provides answers for basic application and processing questions to students and parents. Provides general office and administrative support by performing various data maintenance, reception, records activities, information distribution, correspondence, and other related support duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the overall successful operation of the department.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND: 



  • 24 months financial aid general office, clerical, or related experience.


Skills:



  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • General office and customer service skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) 

  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated

  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner

  • Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • None


Advertised Physical Requirements:



  • Sit for long periods of time.  

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.  

  • May be required to bend, lift, stoop, and carry.

  • Standard office environment.  

  • Regular pressure to meet productivity standards. 


Departmental Preferences:



  • Bachelor's Degree 

  • Knowledge of higher education

  • Familiar with federal financial aid policies and procedures
