PURPOSE
Accountable for the quality control and assurance of all materials and products used and manufactured in the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Check production processes/products for conformance to set specifications.Metal detector set-up and monitoring.Inspect incoming goods as needed.Moisture analysis. Tests various products for moisture content.Monitor / record cooler temps.Organize and file all batch reports.Microbiology sampling and testing.Environmental monitoring.Pre-op inspection and documentation.Shelf life study analysis.Organize product review panels.Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to his/her supervisor.Ensures conformance with all Safety, GMPs, and Food Safety Policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.
1. Must be able to read and write English
2. Computer skills, Excel, Word
3. Basic Math skills
Education, Training and/or Experience:
1-3 years minimum experience in a food plant environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, and use of intranet and internet.Well-developed problem solving, team building and staff development skills.Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as chemical labels, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.High degree of initiative and independent judgment.Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.

HACCP trained
Experience in food processing
Trained in Food Safety & Pre-operation inspection
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or related filed

Nature of work requires an ability to operate laboratory equipment.Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. independently.Majority of time spent standing / walking to perform job duties.Nature of work requires depth perception, normal vision, normal finger dexterity and ability to crouch, reach, hear, communicate and exchange information at normal speaking levels.
