Amerisure is recruiting for a Product Manager - Underwriting, to join our team. This role will be hybrid, working two days a week in the office, and three from home. Ideally this role will sit in our Farmington Hills, MI office, or in our Tampa, FL, Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA office.
Position Summary:
Responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap by planning, organizing, and managing product development projects from inception to completion. The role involves understanding customer needs and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and enhance services.
Responsibilities:
Define and communicate the product vision and strategy alignment with the Company’s overall objectives. Create and maintain product road map to ensure planned development efforts are aligned with the overall product strategy and business goals.
Utilizing market trends, competitor products, and customer behavior to inform product decisions. Collect and analyze external and internal customer feedback to inform product enhancements, fix issues and prioritize new features. Continuously improve project management processes and tools to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for product features.
Work closely with IT team to develop product specifications and ensure the products are delivered on time, within scope, and according to the highest quality standards.
Prioritize User Stories and product features based on business value, customer needs and technical feasibility. Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it is aligned with the product vision and strategy, and reflects stakeholder priorities.
Define acceptance criteria and work with development team to ensure features meet the required standards before release.
Work closely with development teams during sprints, ensuring that the highest-priority features are being worked on and removing roadblocks to ensure smooth execution.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets. Define the business case and key success metrics for the product plan. Monitor project progress and ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget. Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
Liaise with FMU, Service, Marketing and Sales Enablement teams to ensure successful product launches, marketing campaigns, trainings and education as needed.
Act as primary point of contact for all product-related inquiries and decisions. Ensure clear communication and alignment across departments.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in product management, preferably in software, financial services, or insurance related field.
Certified Product Owner (CPO), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), and Project Management Professional (PMP)
3 years of product lifecycle management, Agile methodologies, and user-centered design principles.
3 years of commercial property and casualty insurance and project underwriting experience concentrating in middle market.
Proven ability to translate the product vision into actionable development tasks and ensuring that the product evolves in a way that maximizes value for both the business and the customer.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Intermediate computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with product management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Understanding of UX/UI design principles and customer experience strategies.
