What You Will Achieve
Working with Pfizer's dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment.
You are recognized as a subject matter expert with specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. You will be entrusted with adapting standard methods and procedures by applying your knowledge, prior work experience and requirements. Your business awareness of cross-organizational impact on project delivery will elevate the quality of project deliverables. How You Will Achieve It
Perform maintenance, changeovers, adjustments and repair of production and process equipment, the general facility, and utility equipment.
Participate in multicraft work activities as required.
Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, and a proactive maintenance of systems and mechanical equipment in a cost-effective manner.
Participate in safety training programs and utilize tools, equipment etc. in a safe manner as per plant safety procedures.
Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings.
Use electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, clamp-on current meters, meggers etc. in a safe manner.
Make recommendations regarding improved machine performance.
Follow all SOP and (Current) Good Manufacturing Practices (part of GxP) requirements.
Provide customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures, and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc.).
Responsible for providing input to performance assessment on team members.
Manage own time, professional development and accountable for own results.
Prioritize own workflow and may lead and allocate work of others and assist in establishing their priorities.
ROLE SUMMARY
Provide maintenance and operational support for all plant facilities and utilities equipment to ensure employee safety, equipment safety and functionality, and uninterrupted production operations.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and protocols.
Wear all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.
Oversee maintenance and repair of facility and related equipment as per required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP), Occupational Safety & Health Association regulations (OSHA), and any other applicable guidelines, recommendations, codes, or regulations.
Oversee maintenance and repair of facility, utilities, and related equipment including boilers, HVAC, pumps, chillers, air compressors, vacuum systems, clean steam generators, Water for Injection (WFI) stills, reverse osmosis (RO) systems, and others as required.
Oversee installation and testing of new facility equipment and systems.
Fill out and maintain all required logs and records of maintenance activities.
Assist Safety, Quality, Environmental, Production, Engineering, and/or other departments in troubleshooting issues, providing guidance, and making necessary adjustment for proper operational control of end use spaces and equipment.
Monitor and oversee vendor and contract services for preventative maintenance and immediate repair issues.
Assist with Start-up and Commissioning activities on new systems.
Become on-site on-shift expert for the critical and non-critical Utilities equipment and systems.
Evaluating and improving maintenance practices and search for new technologies.
Technical support includes test, troubleshoot and repair of assigned systems, and preventative and corrective maintenance.
Assist the Investigation team with any/all root cause investigations as necessary.
Assist with both internal and external audits as necessary.
Operations support includes daily technical status reporting and follow up of previous shift issues.
Follow all SOP and EHS training to operate floor jacks, scissor lifts, and other typical material and personnel handling equipment as necessary to safely maneuver equipment and/or personnel.
Follow all SOP and EHS training for Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and other typical maintenance related activities.
Availability to work days/nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24/7 operation.
Ability to read, follow, edit, write, and rewrite Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Create, perform, and revise Work Orders (WO) and Preventative Maintenance (PM).
Proficiently operate and maintain various standard maintenance tools and equipment including basic hand and power tools, multi-meters,
Must respond quickly to plant facility, utilities, and manufacturing needs.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong navigation of other computer software as required.
Previous facility maintenance experience is preferred.
Previous Biopharma experience is preferred.
Clearly communicate management's instructions and schedules to employees in accomplishing assignments to meet safety, security, quality, productivity, and SOP compliance.
Maintain and coordinate schedules for utilities maintenance activities including work orders (WO), preventative maintenance (PM), and day-to-day issues.
Initiate purchase requisitions, work orders, and preventative maintenance documentation as needed.
Collecting and analyzing performance data and generate maintenance report.
Provide expertise and training to mechanics in problem solving, mechanical skills, operational skills, SOP requirements, and other key areas as identified.
Make recommendations for capital equipment replacements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in industrial mechanic, Refrigeration or Electrician with 10+ years appropriate experience in Pharmaceutical, Bio or Food industry.
Requires strong analytical skills and ability to coordinate day to day activities of Utilities Maintenance Mechanics.
Requires strong computer skills.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of utility systems, including HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, etc.
Licenses and Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical license) are highly desirable.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and 3+ years' experience in industrial plant facilities maintenance preferred.
Previous Biopharma experience is preferred.
