Summary of Key Responsibilities: Responsible for accounts payable; general accounting functions, & contract terms in support of operations with little or no supervision.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:


  • Prepare month-end accrual journal entries as assigned per the month end close checklist


  • Post & Proof journal entries


  • Prepare assigned account reconciliations and assist finance team in research with other reconciliations as required


  • Review budgets and/or contracts for payment language related to processing vendor payments or patient reimbursements/stipends


  • Collect forms (W9, POV, Sanction Check) for new vendor accounts


  • Prepare check requests & obtain applicable signatures for timely payment of invoices


  • Route & maintain spreadsheet for quarterly research payments


  • Provide customer service to vendors, providers and patients regarding payment/status issues


  • Communicate with other Sarah Cannon entities to ensure appropriate documents are received


  • Follow-up on check requests to ensure payments are processed in a timely manner


  • File correspondence and other pertinent documents (as necessary)


  • Operate copier, fax/scan and ten-key machines efficiently


  • Complete special projects as assigned





Mandatory:



  • Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".


  • During your employment with Sarah Cannon you will be routinely assigned training requirements. You are expected to complete any training assignments by the due date.





Minimum Qualifications:



  • Associate's Degree; Additional appropriate education may be substituted for healthcare accounting experience


  • 1+ years of progressive accounts payable experience; preferably in a clinical trial research or healthcare-related environment


  • Intermediate proficiency working in Microsoft Excel


  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word


  • Medical payment processing skills


  • Tactful communication skills, both written and oral


  • Ability to interpret basic study contract language as it relates to required payments
