The Loan Operations Specialist performs a variety of routine and non-routine analytical, operational and administrative duties to support both complex commercial and consumer loans. Pre-reviews documentation and loan files both pre-boarding and post-boarding to ensure accuracy and conformity of input. Performs a variety of operational duties and reviews relating to both the commercial loan and consumer loan portfolios. Maintains all systems input to ensure ongoing compliance with respect to HMDA, CRA, Flood, Escrow, Insurance and other closely monitored regulations.
Loan Operations
Previews loan packages prior to Boarding and identifies potential boarding issues.
Accurately board and payoff loans on the core system; including but not limited to participated loans, SBA, complex commercial and consumer loans, commitments, and letters of credit.
Follows and assists in developing and updating departmental procedures to service a variety of loan products including but not limited to: complex commercial loans (CRE & C&I), consumer and mortgage loans.
Responsible for balancing data processing system and verifying processed loan documents for accuracy, balancing general ledger accounts, processing or posting rejected items.
Accurately scans daily work and loan files into the Bank's imaging system.
Review daily posting reports as required with ability to correct and resolve errors contained therein.
Work with vendors and assist with the management of UCC filings, vehicle title perfections and insurance tracking.
Assist in areas within the department as needed.
Loan Origination – Systems Analytical Support
As directed by the Loan Operations Manager, works with Business Analyst, Vendors and Loan Center team to coordinate implementation of new products and product interfaces.
Performs testing of new products, system enhancements, and other changes that are developed for the Core.
Works closely with Loan Operations Manager, Team Leader, and Loan Operations Team to enhance loan boarding and other operational processes.
Customer Relationship Management
Researches and responds to routine customer inquiries over the phone or in writing in a positive, professional, and responsive manner. Initiates contact with other bank departments, branches, or outside vendors as necessary.
Requirements:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
Minimum of two to five years of banking experience in commercial loan operations or loan servicing preferred
Knowledge of loan service practices, methods, and procedures for accurate processing of loan documents
Effective verbal and written communications skills, including customer service skills
Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations
Familiarity with document imaging systems preferred
