Job Summary
To promote excellent scholarship and build upon commitment to foster an inclusive and diverse environment, the College of Engineering (CoE, https://www.coe.miami.edu/) at the University of Miami invites nominations and/or applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Energy and Environmental Science and Engineering at all levels (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). The primary appointment could be in the Department of Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil and Architectural Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering. Joint appointments with other university departments are also possible. The University of Miami's College of Engineering has embarked on university-wide strategic initiatives (www.coe.miami.edu/research/strategic-thrusts/index.html) related to the University's Roadmap to the Next Century. The search is open to all areas of energy and environment: engineering, technology, physics, biology, and chemistry. Some areas of emphasis include smart energy systems, energy storage/generation, renewable energy systems, emission reduction, carbon dioxide capture and conversion, energy transformation and recovery, environment-energy nexus, and environmental systems and processes.
The college is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidates should have an earned Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or science discipline. Post-doctoral training and experience in proposal development are highly desired. The selected candidate will be expected to teach classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Senior faculty will be expected to play a leadership role within his/her department, and to promote interdisciplinary research throughout the University in the field of Energy and Environmental Science and Engineering.
