Job Summary
Office Specialists in Student Affairs are responsible for providing direct services to all students during day, evening and on periodic weekend hours. Employees in this classification serve students in-person, through electronic communication, and/or telephone operations. Additionally, the Student Affairs Specialists perform front-counter reception services anywhere within Student Affairs including, but not limited to - Admissions, Advising, Testing, Call Center, Registrars, and other student support areas as assigned. The Office Specialists may also perform back-office functions such as filing, copying, and other like responsibilities.

Responsibilities/Duties Essential Functions:
Must be detailed oriented and possess good organizational and communication skills. Student Affairs Specialists must have the ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously. Basic computer skills (i.e.: use of a keyboard and mouse; familiarity with the MS Office suite) are preferred. Student Affairs Specialists must be able to successfully perform reception, data entry and filing process. This position often downloads and reviews student records to ensure accuracy. This position must always maintain confidentiality of student information and records as detailed by FERPA.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Provide general information to students and others regarding the onboarding and registration processes in place at BCCC. Performing office functions such as making copies, filing, data entry and other back-office functions as assigned. Maintain files/filing systems for the office. Maintain general appearance/orderliness of department office. Other related duties as assigned.
