Kean faculty members are recognized for teaching distinction, scholarship and service. We are excited to grow our faculty and invite applications for academic year 2025-2026. Faculty positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, effective for the fall 2025 semester. Teaching assignments may be assigned at any of Kean's New Jersey locations - Union, Ocean, Princeton, Skylands or for Kean Online and may include day, evening and weekend courses. Evening hours are required based on department needs for teaching evening courses and for most graduate course assignments.
All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental, college, university and community level is required. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is also required, consistent with University guidelines.
College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership and Secondary Education
Educational Leadership: Higher Education Administration - the Department is seeking a highly motivated researcher to become a member of our diverse, student-centered, academic community to contribute towards the development and promotion of a new higher education track within the existing Ed.D. program. The successful candidate will teach doctoral level courses in higher education (on topics such as the literature of higher education, college student development, student affairs and organization and leadership) and doctoral and master's level courses in educational leadership and research methods (including introductory courses and or specialty courses in quantitative methods). In addition to teaching and maintaining a research agenda focused on higher education, responsibilities include student advisement, chairing and serving on doctoral dissertation committees, ongoing program assessment and accreditation work and contributing towards the development and promotion of the higher education track within the educational leadership Ed.D. program.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Higher Education or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Candidates must have an established and active independent research record that supports publication in peer reviewed journals or publication venues appropriate for the discipline and a strong agenda for future research of such areas as student development, student affairs, educational policy and/or organization and leadership in higher education. Lastly, candidates should have an interest and dedication to program development. Successful candidates will have a clear record of teaching courses in higher education or a related field; a research agenda focused on higher or postsecondary education; experience instructing graduate students through multiple modalities such as face-to-face, online and hybrid teaching; and the ability to prepare educational leaders at the K-12 and higher education levels. ABD candidates will be considered with degree completion by September 1, 2025.
