The Commercial Solar & Storage Project Manager coordinates every phase of commercial solar and storage projects after point of contract, including final design and engineering, permitting, contract compliance, invoicing, pre-installation and installation activity, system commissioning, owner training, and project close-out. This role requires a high-degree of technical knowledge as well as developed strengths in customer-facing interaction and relationship management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordination and refinement of system electrical design.
Confirmation of physical site measurements and other site details and characteristics.
Completion of all design, permitting, and pre-construction planning and documentation prior to scheduled installation.
Ensuring contract compliance between Western Solar and our customers.
Driving project completions to be on time and within budget and ensuring that learned lessons are documented and implemented on subsequent projects.
Acting as primary point of contact for project owners, owner reps, general contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and Western Solar commercial crew and office staff through all project phases.
Overseeing purchasing and on-site deliveries for all project materials, as well as rental, delivery, and pick-up of required material lifting equipment.
Assisting Director of Commercial Sales & Operations and PM Scheduler with creating and updating installation schedule.
Production of Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP) for each project.
Supervision and support of on-site project operations, as necessary, to confirm alignment with approved construction drawings.
Coordination and oversight of final commissioning activities and owner trainings.
Ensuring all SOVs, payment apps, certified payroll, daily logs, and safety reports have been properly submitted and/or filed.
Regular and consistent updating of project and customer information in Western Solar's CRM (HubSpot).
Regular and consistent communication on Western Solar's communication platform (Slack).
Commitment to being a solar and BESS industry expert for Western Solar's customers, particularly with respect to the nuances of specific solar and storage incentives and rules.

Required Skills:
Expert knowledge of grid-tied commercial photovoltaic and BESS systems.
2 years in Project Manager or Coordinator position.
High level of understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems and components.
Multi-tasking / ability to concurrently work on several ongoing projects.
Experience using CAD or Trimble SketchUp or equivalent 3D modeling software.
MS Office (Excel), Adobe Acrobat Pro, Google Suite.
Experience with Aurora and HelioScope modeling software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in person at Western Solar's office in beautiful Bellingham, Washington.
Passion for working on a team of dedicated renewable energy professionals.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of complex electrical design theory and concepts (NEC).
Knowledge of commercial construction design and practices.
Knowledge of current commercial electrical, building, and energy codes.
