Job Description:
Working in close coordination with the President & CEO, this position supports comprehensive fund development based on the organization's strategic goals. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to translate ideas into action through planning, organizing, and implementing fundraising activities. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have the skills to participate in high-level individual and institutional donor relationship management.
The Development Director will be responsible for fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization, ensuring that fundraising is appreciated and recognized as essential to fulfilling the mission. The ideal candidate will embody the organization's values of teamwork, humility, dedication to the mission, and selflessness.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage internal and outsourced aspects of grant writing, management, and reporting
Develop and execute donor recruitment and retention strategies
Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and stakeholders
Plan and manage fundraising events
Lead the organization's communications strategy
Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ yrs of proven experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, & grant management
Proven ability to secure major gifts of $25,000 or more
Federal grant application and management experience
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with donor relations and event management
Understanding of foodbanking, food systems, and social services
Working Conditions
Hours may vary (typical work week = 40 hours)
Open concept workspace, with private working stations available
