Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The CAD Coordinator will be the conduit between AEV and Teamcenter. They will actively manage data into and out of AEV's development team while executing timely data releases for customer program gates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Highly Proficient with Teamcenter, NX, and VisMockUp - Specific competencies include:
  • Ability to manage CAD data and drawings in General Motors Teamcenter
  • Includes baselining components and creating study files
  • Hard releasing of data based on program gates
  • Fulfilling OEM and AEV ECRs
  • Proficient in creating EGD&T
  • Familiar with GM tracking models (TKVs) and their file structure
  • Maintain internal AEV tracking system that tracks data uploaded to TKVs with corresponding data in AEV's PDM
  • Accurately builds and maintains installation assemblies (IAs) within NX
  • Assembly of design logs
  • Specifically, VPPS coding, material assignments (IMM), and material specs
  • Experience with file manipulations
  • Importing, exporting, and translating between .stp, .x_t, and .prt files formats
  • Actively participates in design reviews
  • Presents and navigates data within NX or VisMockUp for internal and external design reviews
  • Competent in overlaying components and processing CAD requests
  • Examples include - proximity selection, interference checks, clipping plane sections, and measurements
  • Maintain communication with multiple GM DREs and AEV PMs across several active programs
  • Implement process improvements for file management
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • NX or SolidWorks technical training or college courses preferred with a focus on Automotive Design
  • Equivalent job experience is also acceptable
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as NX CAD Designer releasing files into OEM's Teamcenter, GM preferred
  • Strong understanding of file management within PDM and FTPs
  • Work history, preferably in the automotive industry, which demonstrates diverse job responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasked work environment
  • Strong computer skills including Teamcenter, NX, VisMockUp, Solidworks, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sitting:6-8 hours at a time
  • Standing: 1-2 hours at a time. There will be days standing could be 8 hours
  • Walking: 30 minutes to an hour
  • Lifting: 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Carrying: 25 lbs. occasionally

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This role requires local and international travel. Employees must have and maintain active copies of all necessary paperwork for travel locally and internationally.
