Position Summary: Escalera Capital is seeking an experienced Director of Asset Management to lead the strategic oversight of our hospitality and commercial real estate portfolios. This role will primarily focus on hospitality asset management, with additional responsibilities across our industrial and retail holdings. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing hotel assets, particularly with major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt, and should also possess strong underwriting skills.
This position includes a smaller investor relations component, focusing on back-of-house tasks like drafting investor updates and coordinating with investors to ensure timely distribution of tax returns. The Director will work closely with the executive team to ensure the financial health and performance of our assets while driving value across our diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Hospitality Asset Management: Oversee the performance and management of Presidian's hotel assets, with a focus on value enhancement, operational efficiency, and execution of Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Commercial Asset Oversight: Manage Mulberry's portfolio of industrial and retail assets, ensuring the optimization of property performance and tenant relationships.
Financial Oversight & Underwriting: Conduct detailed financial analysis and underwriting for new acquisitions, dispositions, and ongoing asset performance, ensuring alignment with overall portfolio strategy.
Investor Relations (Back-of-House): Draft investor updates, correspond with investors regarding tax return filings, and support investor reporting.
Operational & Capital Strategy: Develop and implement business plans for individual properties, collaborating with property managers and operations teams to meet and exceed financial targets.
Market Analysis & Risk Management: Monitor market trends, assess risks, and adjust strategies to maintain portfolio competitiveness and mitigate potential issues.
Lease & Financing Strategy: Oversee lease negotiations, capital expenditures, and refinancing efforts in alignment with business objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in hospitality asset management, with strong experience managing hotel assets for brands like Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt.
Demonstrated expertise in underwriting, financial management, and asset performance analysis.
Experience with managing investor relations from a back-of-house perspective, including drafting updates and coordinating investor communications.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Valid Texas Driver's License and willingness to travel for business needs.
