Interamerican Bank is seeking a Junior Loan Officer to service the South Florida area who can provide exceptional customer service while building new relationships to continue the growth of the company. The candidate will be based out of our Main Branch.
The candidate must continually originate new commercial and residential mortgage loans and related products and is expected to increase the commercial and residential loan portfolio by developing new contacts and attracting new customers for Interamerican Bank through industry referral relationships with past clients. The individual must also maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service throughout the loan process and act as a liaison between the Bank and the customer during processing and underwriting in order to ensure excellent customer service.
Qualified individuals must be successful, self-motivated, ethical, and experienced in originating commercial loans and residential mortgages. This includes:
Three (3) or more years of experience in the mortgage industry
Closing three (3) or more loans and $400,000 in volume monthly
Active NMLS ID or the ability to obtain prior to employment
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of portfolio management as it relates to assigned portfolio loans together with the cross selling of bank products and services
Loan portfolio shall consist of all types of commercial loans including, but not limited to, lines of credit, term notes, permanent owner-occupied mortgages, and/or commercial constructions, residential, consumer, and HELOCs.
Additional responsibilities may include the origination and maintenance of the bank's quarterly Criticized Assets Report (CAR)
Manage past due and maturing loans
Review and perform analysis of debt service and covenant compliance
Review credit risk rating triggers for upgrade, downgrade, and action plans
Actively participates in research, preparation, and execution of customer calls
Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process
Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available
Obtain and compile copies of loan applicant's credit history, corporate financial statements, and other financial information
Review and update credit and loan files
Review loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate according to policy
Submit application to credit analysts for verification and recommendation
Work with clients to identify their financial goals and find ways of reaching those goals
Attend webinars, seminars, and business relation association meetings as directed by management
Perform customer visits
Other duties may be assigned
Education and Experience:
Loan Officer: three (3) years
Bachelor's degree from a four year institution in finance or business
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Previous credit and underwriter experience preferred
