The Senior Civil Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of civil construction projects, with a specific focus on large-scale underground utility construction. This role requires a strong background in civil construction, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of utility infrastructure. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of successful project delivery with a project value between $10MM-$30MM+.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Management:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
Coordinate and manage all project activities, ensuring adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Regularly communicate project status updates to clients, internal teams, and management.
2. Utility Infrastructure Expertise:
Utilize extensive knowledge of utility infrastructure, including water, sewer, stormwater. Cast-in-place concrete experience is a plus, but not required.
Oversee the planning and construction of large-scale utility projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for complex utility challenges.
Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and develop appropriate remediation plans.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead a multidisciplinary project team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Identify opportunities for professional development and training to enhance team members' skills and expertise.
4. Client Relationship Management:
Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives to deliver tailored solutions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Actively pursue new business opportunities, participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in civil construction and project management, with a focus on utility infrastructure projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing utility infrastructure projects.
