About The Role:
Title: System Administrator I
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Location: Remote - (Preference MO/KS area. May have to work in the office as
needed.)
Status: Exempt, Full Time
Compensation: Annual salary based on experience with incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
Responsibilities: • Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. • Responds to telephone calls, email, and requests for technical support. • Provide support to users relating to both hardware, software, network, internet, and remote system connectivity. • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and perform testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication, and computer network systems. • Assemble, install, configure, and evaluate computer equipment. • Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates, and installs patches and resolves software related problems. • Completes work orders such as installing equipment, connecting, and moving devices or creating components of networks, etc. • Develop and maintain software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; develop inventory lists and order, stock, and store electronic components. • Perform preventive maintenance for computer, data communication, and peripheral equipment; test and adjust to appropriate standards. • May coordinate departmental purchases of application software and provide license tracking on all centrally purchased packages such as office suites. • Managing and maintaining local and cloud-based file storage. • Maintaining firewalls, routers, switches, etc. • Monitoring the network for security risks and vulnerabilities. • Performs other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.
Accountabilities: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain procedures verbally and in writing; good phone skills. • Strong ability to learn; ability to follow instructions well; strong analytical skills. • Familiarity with Operating systems, administrative commands and utilities, user rights and permissions RBAC, security systems, and directory services. • Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks and related hardware and software. • Maintains records, logs, and reports of assistance. • Maintains network and PC preventive maintenance logging efforts to ensure network and data integrity. • Keep current with the latest technology and security standards. • Confers with users and IT personnel to develop innovative approaches or alternatives to ensure that user assistance is being provided effectively and efficiently.
Education & Work Experience • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. • Minimum of two years of experience in the field or a related field. • Advanced technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.

Physical Requirements: • Sitting for extended periods of time. • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to manage other computer components. • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings. • Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects (40 lbs.), such as computers and peripherals. • Walking, bending, and reaching intermittently. • Ability to travel as needed to clients and multiple service center locations.
