SUMMARY: Responsible for routine observations and monitoring of product and processes to ensure compliance with finished product specifications. Food Safety and Quality Plans, and all other regulatory and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Monitor product for defects
Inspect facility for sanitary conditions
Monitor packaging specifications
Ensuring Lot Control and Product Identification is accurate
Take product temperatures
Perform scale checks
Perform HACCP monitoring tasks
Control of out of specification product, equipment, and areas
Other Food Safety and Quality monitoring activities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to interact positively with other employees, management and USDA
Ability to perform simple math functions and enter data into a Tablet/Computer
Ability to perform accurate documentation on records - attention to detail
Ability to wear, use and maintain personal protective equipment
Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures
Tech I Qualifications: Training and validation completed for the following processes:
Perform product inspections for defects (FPS and/or Fallout)
Ability to perform monitoring and correction of personnel GMPs
Applying Hold Tags to nonconforming equipment and/or product
Documenting accurate records
Education and/or Experience:
Prefer minimum of 1-year experience in a meat processing or manufacturing environment
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Communication Skills:
Ability to take direction and learn by observing others
Must be able to communicate effectively
Physical Requirements / Environment:
Stand: Continuously (4 or more hours)
Grasp: Continuously/Repetitive (picking up product to place on trays)
Pull/Push: Occasionally (5-8 lbs. of product toward work area)
Lift/Carry: Continuously (2-12 ounces/product)
Occasionally (up to 20-30 lbs.)
Physical Environment: Continuously: Working around moving machinery, working in a damp, slippery and cold environment (Below 40° F)
Hours: 2nd shift, 4:00 pm - end of production
Pay: $14.50/hr + $2/hr shift differential, & up to $3/hr attendance bonus
