Under the supervision of the Clinical Education and Training Director, the Clinical Education Instructional Developer is responsible for the design and development of clinical education programs at Alliance Health. This role requires optimization of learning plans to meet the clinical workforce’s evolving needs for timely release of state, contractual and regulatory educational content.
This individual must have experience with adult learning principles, production accessibility standards, editing multimedia content, differentiating instructional modalities to meet audience needs, supporting in-person and virtual training, curating and monitoring files for updates, and managing multiple projects with varying timelines. The ideal candidate must have experience working in an integrated health plan environment and can oversee Alliance’s LMS.
This position is fulltime remote. Selected candidate must reside in North Carolina. Some travel for onsite meetings to the Home office (Morrisville, NC) may be required.
Responsibilities & Duties
Program Development and Oversight
Implement and integrate role specific learning pathways with best practice and competency checks
Act as subject matter expert in communication and instructional design for clinical education products aligned with Alliance’s clinical service departments
Identify gaps in clinical educational content accessibility standards as driven by Health Equity; develop and implement strategies to mitigate for them
Ensure all educational products comply with relevant regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements
Train, mentor, and communicate with peers and integrated clinical department partners
Assign all the necessary requirements related to and provide reporting for CEU accreditation standards
Leverage platform and LMS capabilities to automate and streamline manual processes and record keeping
Responsible for Alliance’s clinical education media storage and asset management
Identify and adopt technology that leads to automation of educational content processes as necessary
Instructional Design
Upskill team to leverage platform capabilities that engage and meet learners' needs within various digital delivery modalities
Schedule and organize role-specific learning paths for clinical staff at varied levels and licensures
Assist in distributing educational materials via Alliance’s LMS and innovate distribution avenues using other Alliance tools
Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to support the design of curriculum targeted to adult learners, ensuring learning objectives are aligned with relevant content
Research and recommend fiscally responsible technology and learning platforms to support instructional demands, including multimedia content for diverse learners
Submit budget and business justification for identified software needs
Design and produce video and interactive training materials with existing or procured eLearning authoring software within the standards established by the organization’s Compliance department
Edit pre-recorded film or presentation, provide captioning, and identify opportunities for after enhancement-effects or reinforcement.
Support role mapping and logistical planning for role specific deployments or large-scale upgrades
Communication and Support
Collaborate with a team of clinical education and training specialists (individual contributors) to optimize a virtual and instructor-led learning strategy
Ensure compliance with departmental policies and maintain annual education requirements
Participates in committees and workgroups as necessary
Assist with course evaluation and data analysis
Implement, curate and manage a robust library of clinical educational resources
Project Management
Track and monitor timely production of clinical training requests
Prioritize and ensure completion of training requests
Provide accurate milestone deadline capabilities
Other Duties
Serve as the float trainer for the Clinical Education and Training team as needed for coverage or other unforeseen situations
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, media studies or production and a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience designing whole person care training and education content for adult learners/continuing education. Relias, Articulate, or other intuitive design-based system experience required. Docebo or comparable system management experience required. Transcription (captioning) experience required.
Digital media or video editor certificate (e.g. Avid Certified User, Avid Certified Professional, Adobe Certified Professional in Video Design) required.

Salary Range
$86,800-$112,840/Annually
Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity. The selected candidate will be eligible to participate in Alliance's PPO Health Benefit Plan. This position does not include any other benefits, nor offer vacation or sick accrual leave.
