This is a contract position with hourly rate with a hybrid presence required for 2 - 3 days a week in Mclean, VA. Looking for a Technical Project Manager who is solid hands-on with software engineering as well.
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong background in full-stack development, cloud solutions, data management, and AI software engineering. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in these areas who can lead projects and work effectively with technical teams to deliver scalable, robust solutions.
Responsibilities:
Own and drive complex projects end-to-end, coordinating across teams to ensure successful, timely delivery.
Act as a key interface between engineering, data, and AI teams, product management, stakeholders, and customer, translating technical requirements into actionable project plans.
Utilize your technical expertise to contribute to project scoping, architectural discussions, and problem-solving, understanding the detailed needs of engineering teams.
Define project timelines, resources, and KPIs while aligning teams on goals and milestones.
Proactively identify, analyze, and manage potential risks and bottlenecks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality and on-schedule delivery.
Implement agile methodologies to refine project processes and support iterative improvement across development and deployment cycles.
Requirements:
Proven background in full-stack application development, cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), data engineering, and/or AI-driven projects.
8+ years of experience managing technical projects, in a software engineering, data science, and/or cloud infrastructure environment.
Previous experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or similar technical role. Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, Golang) and cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, especially under tight timelines and with evolving project requirements.
Experience working in an agile environment, with a commitment to driving projects iteratively and adapting quickly to change.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM certification.
Practical understanding of artificial intelligence lifecycle and related tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, SageMaker, Bedrock).
Familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud setups.
