About Walden Interiors:

Walden Interiors, an established 15-year-old interior design firm, is expanding to capture a larger market share, foster new relationships, and develop a design-build department. This role is an exciting opportunity to join Walden Interiors in a growth phase, with potential for career advancement to a senior designer position within two years.

Position Overview:

The Design & Administrative Assistant will play a vital role in supporting various aspects of a local business, including client relations, project management, logistics, and design documentation. This position requires a well-rounded individual with an eagerness to learn and support both administrative and design-focused tasks, making it ideal for someone looking to build a career in interior design.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support
• Organize and maintain design project files on platforms like MyDoma and Google Drive, including client information, meeting notes, photos, and presentation packages.
• Keep client, vendor, and partner information current in CRM tools (e.g., Active Campaign).
• Communicate professionally with clients and vendors via email, text, and phone, managing project details, tracking orders, and maintaining strong relationships.
• Order and manage design samples, tracking stock, pricing, and lead times. Coordinate sample pick-ups/drop-offs and deliveries.
• Track new business leads and handle follow-ups to support growth initiatives.

Sales & Business Development
Training & Development: Train on the CardoneU sales platform, learning cold-call scripts and objection handling.
Business Development: Identify potential collaborators (e.g., contractors, architects) and engage with strategic partners for potential media and marketing opportunities.
• Cultivate relationships with complementary businesses locally and nationally, setting up discovery calls and consultations as appropriate.

Marketing & Content Creation
On-Site Photoshoots: Coordinate photoshoots with professional photographers to capture completed projects.
Content Creation: Develop behind-the-scenes videos, client interviews, and showcase the design process, providing a window into Walden Interiors' creative approach.

Design Project Support
Design Assistance: Assist in creating layouts, sourcing products, and confirming product specifications (measurements, colors, sizes, styles).
• Coordinate with vendors on pricing, stock, alternatives, and lead times, as well as create mood boards and presentation materials.
Sample Library Management: Organize and maintain a comprehensive sample library, ensuring client files are kept up-to-date both physically and digitally.

Requirements:
• Own a computer and reliable vehicle for travel to the city, local showrooms, on-site client meetings, and events.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional weekends and evening work.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a professional demeanor and a passion for design.

Compensation:

starting at $18/hour for 30 hours per week, with plans to transition to full-time by January-February 2024, including full benefits.
