Minnesota State University Moorhead invites applications for an Assistant or Associate tenure-track faculty position in School Psychology beginning in Fall 2025. Moorhead, MN is a beautiful affordable place to live and close to MN lake country. Teach school psychology graduate courses and, as load permits, courses in the undergraduate psychology major. Teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: School Psychology Assessment and Intervention, School-based Family and Community Collaboration, Foundations of School Psychology, and additional courses related to area of expertise. Duties also include supervising school psychology intern and practicum students, supporting our federal and state grants, engaging in scholarly research, and advancing the goals of the department and university including focusing on student achievement, supporting diversity, and fostering community engagement and school-based partnerships.

We have a 30+ year NASP-approved program and awesome students (truly). We were allowed by NASP to do a synchronous HyFlex option for some of our students to address the shortage of rural and diverse school psychologists. This Blended Student Learning Experience increases accessibility and has provided great opportunities for all our students. Our focus is high quality, cohort-model training advocating for healthy, equitable schools, and student success. We encourage faculty to explore their research interests, especially in applied settings. We are collaborative and enjoy working together and supporting each other.

Minimum:

  • Earned doctorate (or ABD) in School Psychology or closely related field at start of employment
  • Demonstrated teaching skill and ability to teach Assessment and Intervention courses and additional courses in area of expertise
  • Eligibility for Minnesota Department of Education certification as a school psychologist
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and potential for research and mentorship
  • Evidence of successful collaboration with colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students of diverse backgrounds
  • Strong technology skills as needed for teaching, assessment, and supervision

Preferred:

  • Earned doctorate in School Psychology from a NASP accredited program.
  • At least two years of successful experience as a school psychologist in P-12 schools, with experience in MTSS, PBIS, or data-based problem solving
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Evidence of significant engagement in school psychology as a profession
  • Demonstrated commitment to involving student collaborators in research or applied projects
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse learning and working environment
  • Strong background in school-based social emotional learning
  • Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis with the potential for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
