What You'll Do...
We seek a Sourcing Manager who will be overseeing the sourcing process, implementing merchant strategies, and nurturing regional supplier capabilities, all in alignment with the global sourcing strategy for fresh produce.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management
Understand supplier capabilities, capacity, and performance.
Conduct factory visits to monitor production and assess capacity.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Conduct supplier assessments and formulate a supplier matrix for categories.
Understand trade and political issues and incorporate them into sourcing proposals.
Cost and Order Management
Use in-depth understanding of component pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Actively participate in order placement decisions.
Negotiate product and price effectively and develop alternatives to meet objectives.
Share component costing information with Product Development.
Sourcing Initiatives and Leadership
Lead sourcing initiatives/projects with cross-functional partners.
Provide coaching and guidance to subordinates on sourcing activities.
Apply digitalization and new working methods.
Continuously develop product and market knowledge and industry know-how.
Retail and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Communicate with the retail team to align sourcing strategy and manage buy trips.
Manage critical issues during the order execution process.
Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners and suppliers to understand business needs and priorities.
Partner with Merchandise Quality Engineer on quality-related issues.
Additional Responsibilities
Present solutions that mitigate risk while maintaining profitability.
Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed.
Collaborate with the Global Supply Management (GSM) team to align order strategy.
Leverage suppliers with different retail markets.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience in global sourcing (perishables) and supply chain knowledge.
Preference for experience in sourcing produce.
4-year Bachelor degree or 3 to 5 year Produce Retail or Food industry experience preferred.
Demonstrable planning and analytical skills.
Experience in cost negotiation.
Strong strategic leadership, planning, and critical thinking skills.
A team player with the ability to work with associates from diverse cultures.
Willingness to travel 10% to 30% of the time to visit growers in fields.
Fluency in Spanish and conversational English is required.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
