Position: Senior Data Analyst
Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066
Duties: Perform in-depth and detailed data analytics on large, complex, disparate datasets to investigate business problems, distill the complex analytics into easily understandable data visualizations. Facilitate critical decision making and prescribe/recommend optimal actions. Create, develop, and improve a standardized, semi-automated and detailed process framework to convert upstream data inputs to detailed level forecast using the big data analytics power of big query platform and data ETL of tableau prep. Create, develop, and improve a standardized data visualization suite measuring and tracking various volume indicators and KPIs for the Walmart transportation network on a daily basis. Develop and improve existing models. Continuously improve the modeling frameworks by mirroring the real world through assumptions and approximations but balance the speed to solution as well. Build strong relationship with various teams and cross functional partners by constant and effective communication, understanding their business problems and requirements in detail and recommending/implementing optimal solutions. Derive a standardized metric for tracking transportation forecasting effectiveness by creating a dashboard in Tableau which helps in developing root cause analysis for forecasting accuracy improvement opportunities by creating various buckets based on the inputs and frameworks for deriving the short term transportation forecast. Continuously improve processes by utilizing the best practices in data analytics and standardizing the data inputs, processing, validation, and visualization
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Engineering Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Technology, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Engineering Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Skills Required: Experience with big data analytics using at least one of the following data warehouses: HIVE, Google Big Query, or Hadoop. Experience with mathematical modelling/optimization and automation using SSMS, Hive, and BigQuery. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Qlikview, and PowerBI frameworks. Experience Extracting, Transforming, and Loading data (ETL) using programming languages. Experience with at least one of the following Database Management Systems: MySQL, SSMS, or BigQuery. Experience with at least one of the following data repository systems: SAP Business Warehouse or JDA. Experience with supply chain analytics. Experience with scenario based analytics and data modelling using Advanced Excel. Experience with Jupyter Notebooks or VScode IDE tools for data science. Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C++, C Sharp, or Java. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $128,398/year to $202,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
