The Refrigeration Application Engineeracts as the corporate refrigeration systems subject matter expert in design, applications, and compliance requirements for Everidge. They will provide expert guidance and support while ensuring compliance and safety requirements are strictly adhered to.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
Review, specify, and provide designs for refrigeration systems to align with customer requirements.
Act as the technical liaison between Everidge and our equipment suppliers.
Provide guidance on risk mitigation and value engineering opportunities within our current and proposed offerings.
Preparation of building, mechanical, electrical and energy code compliance calculations and associated attestations
Ensure that all system designs pass the applicable agency standards. These include but are not limited to: UL471, NSF7, CSA, DOE, and EPA standards.
Responsible for writing and maintaining UL, NSF, CSA, and DOE and all required file reports.
Lead the transitions into future refrigeration requirements and subsequent equipment configuration changes.
Assist in production problems and performance issues that arise in manufacturing.
Assist in resolving field service issues as it pertains to refrigeration system design, installation, and technical product inquiries.
Develop and lead an in-house refrigeration system training program to elevate refrigeration system application knowledge.
Assist in developing and maintaining technical literature, IOM’s, tech bulletins, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with HVAC/R focus or commensurate experience with commercial refrigeration equipment system design, installation, service, and warranty management
PE is not a requirement but given priority.
7+ years of commercial refrigeration design and application experience
Experience with managing regulatory standards such as UL, DOE, CSA and NSF Standards
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
Expert level understanding of commercial refrigeration systems and their components
Familiarity with International, National, State and Local building, mechanical, electrical and energy codes
EPA Universal Certification
Complete understanding of A2L requirements and the impact on system performance and design
CO2 refrigerant application and design
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills
Problem solving and decision-making skills needed for a demanding environment.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Experience with Excel
AutoCAD experience is helpful.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION:
This position has no direct reports, but provides leadership and guidance to sales, design, procurement, and field operation teams.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in office, shop environment, and customer sites. For work that is performed in an office, the noise level is usually moderate i.e., business office with computer printer, and light traffic. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. When in the shop environment, conditions vary based on the area and project.
