Position Summary
To provide supervision and training to associates / program participants in the performance of the mail handling duties at the IRS Mail Room. Responsible for the planning and execution of all mail services required in the IRS Mail Room contract.
Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
Responsible for all phases of the mail production and distribution within the instructed guidelines and timeframes of the contract requirement.
2. Schedule, coordinate and direct the activities of the Mailroom staff, maintain personnel records, monitor and document performance and/or behavior related issues of the program participants and communicate these on a timely basis to the Case Manager.
3. Accurately prepare on a timely basis the daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by Service Source and participate in conference calls with the customer.
4. Train Mailroom associates and program participants to perform the duties detailed in the Contract Statement of Work.
5. Ensure the correct postal/meter rates are used, outgoing mail and packages metered using the appropriate service provider (USPS, FEDEX or UPS).
6. Ensure the proper use of the Winn Wits Computer operating system. Required proper tracking of all accountable mail.
7. Follow HAZMAT procedures for handling potentially hazardous mail. Know safety requirements and reporting procedures for suspicious mail. In addition, perform job in a safe manner, with concerns for other and a desire to increase production.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.
Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Years' experience in a related field required. No professional certifications are required for this position. Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication on a government background investigation prior to start date. May be required to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance and sex offender check. Ability to operate PC and databases required. Experience with current Microsoft Office systems preferred
