JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Staff Accountant will have responsibility for supporting all parts of our financial reporting process in the US and will be expected to understand internal control design concepts. The candidate must show a strong sense of ownership, the ability to identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and improve processes, drive change within the accounting department, and develop partnerships with all parts of the organization. This position will focus on intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and complex account analysis using SAP S/4 Hana. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in these areas and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Intercompany Accounting: Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly. • Complex Account Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of complex accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and company policies. • SAP S/4 Hana Utilization: Utilize SAP S/4 Hana for financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements, ensuring efficient and accurate financial data management. • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights and recommendations for improvements. • Compliance and Audit: Ensure adherence to internal controls and participate in internal and external audits as required. • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department. • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and IT, to support business objectives and ensure accurate financial reporting. • Technical Accounting: Apply advanced technical accounting skills to complex transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards. • Team Performance: Drive high performance within the accounting team by mentoring, coaching, and providing continuous feedback to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. • Reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries for accounting department. • Records journal entries as needed into SAP ERP system. • Engages other departments to organize operational accounting processes as appropriate. • Records and analyzes tax entries and works with tax department to ensure tax compliance. • Completes ad hoc reports and queries and their duties as assigned. • Collaborates with technical accounting team to determine lease contract entries IFRS16 (ASC 842) • Extracts journal entries from LEAP system for upload to SAP. • Manage end to end fixed assets accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and tracking assets under construction. • Drives high performance and quality within the team, by making the team more successful, supporting staff, developing others, and developing self. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. • CPAMaster’s degree or equivalent certification preferred. • 5 to 8 years’ Aexperience t least 5 years of experience in operational accounting. • Public Accounting experience preferred. REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: • Experience with large scale ERP program (SAP preferred). • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Aptitude for information Technology. • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). • Experience working in a fast-paced environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Physical demands are mostly consistent with a professional office setting. • Regular sitting at workstation for 25 – 75% of the work shift. • Nominal travel (<10%) may be required.
