Job Purpose: To design, develop, and implement innovative processes, equipment, and tooling to meet current and new product cost and quality expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively participate as a member of the cross-functional safety team to achieve best-in-class safety metrics.
Maintain the gage calibration program and monitor in-process inspection procedures in collaboration with manufacturing.
Report on quality performance and product reliability, maintaining inspection and control procedures to meet quality standards and minimize costs.
Act as a liaison with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues as needed.
Utilize engineering skills to develop lean manufacturing and process improvements.
Create PTC-CREO 3D models and 2D drawings of manufacturing systems and components.
Support the Operations & Maintenance group in troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Maintain well-documented design history and perform calculations to align customer expectations with process requirements.
Analyze and interpret technical data, managing all aspects of design projects.
Review new product requests, develop manufacturing processes, and create cost estimates.

Safety Incident Rate (IR)/Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART)
Percentage of Scrap
Number of Customer Complaints
AAR Chapter 7s
Metrics: % Scrap per Line, % Scrap per Defect
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Experience in mechanical design of machine components and systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
3D CAD design skills, ideally in CREO.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine design.
Physical Requirements:
Must have a full range of body motion, with some operations requiring repetitive bending, squatting, and full arm extension. Manual lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Ability to visit various manufacturing environments is necessary.
