Security Clearance: Active SECRET clearance required with the expectation of obtaining a TS/SCI
Job Description:
Position Responsibilities:
Engineer new capabilities and maintain existing environments.
Work with a mix of different vendors and technologies.
Produce designs including system, logical, and connectivity drawings, and conduct testing of network designs.
Maintain technical expertise in diverse areas of network and computer hardware and software, including interconnection and interfacing with a wide range of devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and gateways.
Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.
Experience Required:
Active SECRET clearance required with the expectation of obtaining a TS/SCI.
Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently on large field projects.
Proven troubleshooting skills.
Experience in planning and supporting the deployment of network infrastructure is highly desired.
Prior C2BMC network experience is a plus.
Technical Skills Required:
Design, implementation, and troubleshooting of networking equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Working knowledge of spanning tree, trunking, routing protocols, first hop redundancy protocols, and IP subnetting.
Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environment.
Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) with Continuing Education (CE).
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer interface skills, quick learner, and ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a can-do attitude.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Juniper routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls.
Experience with WANs, encryption devices, VxLAN, multicast, BGP, OSPF, and Wireshark.
Familiarity with SIPRNet, MDACNet, or other DoD networks.
Certifications such as COMPTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
Understanding of the project lifecycle, related processes, and traditional systems engineering skills.
Experience in reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality, completeness, and adherence to established procedures and policies.
Active TOP SECRET SCI clearance preferred.
Travel may be required to support both local and remote sites.
Education/Experience:
Typically requires an advanced degree and 3+ years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent.
Wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the field, providing solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions.
Works under general direction, with results reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Frequent internal and external customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
