Job Description:



Position Responsibilities:

• Engineer new capabilities and maintain existing environments.


• Work with a mix of different vendors and technologies.


• Produce designs including system, logical, and connectivity drawings, and conduct testing of network designs.


• Maintain technical expertise in diverse areas of network and computer hardware and software, including interconnection and interfacing with a wide range of devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and gateways.


• Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.

Experience Required:

• Active SECRET clearance required with the expectation of obtaining a TS/SCI.


• Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently on large field projects.


• Proven troubleshooting skills.


• Experience in planning and supporting the deployment of network infrastructure is highly desired.


• Prior C2BMC network experience is a plus.

Technical Skills Required:

• Design, implementation, and troubleshooting of networking equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.


• Working knowledge of spanning tree, trunking, routing protocols, first hop redundancy protocols, and IP subnetting.


• Demonstrated experience in the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environment.


• Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) with Continuing Education (CE).


• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent customer interface skills, quick learner, and ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a can-do attitude.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Juniper routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls.


• Experience with WANs, encryption devices, VxLAN, multicast, BGP, OSPF, and Wireshark.


• Familiarity with SIPRNet, MDACNet, or other DoD networks.


• Certifications such as COMPTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP.


• Understanding of the project lifecycle, related processes, and traditional systems engineering skills.


• Experience in reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality, completeness, and adherence to established procedures and policies.


• Active TOP SECRET SCI clearance preferred.


• Travel may be required to support both local and remote sites.

Education/Experience:

• Typically requires an advanced degree and 3+ years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent.


• Wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the field, providing solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions.


• Works under general direction, with results reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.


• Frequent internal and external customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
