Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Mechanic for the SACROC Production in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the Production Rotating Equipment. The SACROC Production operation employs a multitude of processes which include over 42 split case MSD Bingham pumps, 100 transfer pumps, 26 VRU's, 30 air compressors, and 6 positive displacement pumps. Position level commensurate with experience and skill sets.
Duties include:
Provide support to operations to ensure production downtime is minimized.
Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, efficient and cost effective operation, making sure that operating costs are consistent with budgetary expectations.
Support and work with outside groups such as process engineering, project engineering, and the Operations Excellence team on safety, optimization, and expansion initiatives.
Position Requirements
Experience Required
Must have completed at least one (1) year as a Mechanic or industry equivalent
Experience working on split case MSD Bingham pumps
Experience working on and rebuilding Gris wold, Gould's, and Worthington centrifugal pumps
Experience working on Vapor Recover Units (VRU)
Knowledge of associated VRU lubrication and cooling systems
Experience Ingersoll Rand and Quincy air compressors
Experience with Laser Alignments and or dial indicator alignments.
Basic computer skills
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Must maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record acceptable to KM's insurer.
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from manager, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
Education Required
High School Diploma
Working Conditions:
Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness
May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Production piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances
Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend
Must be available 24 hrs a day Mon-Fri and must be available for scheduled on call weekends.
