Job Description:

Overhead Door Company of Atlanta™, a DH Pace Company, Inc. is seeking to hire a Woodshop Production Manager in our Peachtree Corners, GA office! This individual will be Responsible for day to day directing and monitoring operations of the production/carpentry shop, including supervision of staff, equipment maintenance, resolution of problems, inventory, work priorities, scheduling of production, quality, deadlines, communication with other work teams and recommendations for improvement to processes, morale, teamwork and safety.



Position Overview:



  • Responsible for day to day directing and monitoring woodshop production operations, managing a team of 6 carpenters

  • Create production schedules, oversee production processes and ensure the best quality product is produced in the department, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment

  • Manage production cost and provide yearly update to cost matrixes

  • Provide cost estimates and reviewing proposals and shop drawings

  • Creating, updating and closing production orders or job tickets in timely manner

  • Conduct safety training as scheduled, or situation requires

  • Conduct scheduled inventories and ensure material is on hand when needed

  • Train team on current new techniques, procedures and materials in the woodshop to ensure consistent and quality driven results

  • Perform trouble shooting and maintenance when needed. Research and recommend parts needed for repairs.

  • Source materials, tools and supplies when needed

  • Responsible for shop layout and project flow to ensure carpenters are working as efficient as possible

  • Any other duties that may be assigned



Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years of industry related experience 

  • 5+ years of management preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Strong leadership, team player, exhibit a can-do attitude

  • Must be mechanically inclined with a comprehensive working knowledge of industrial wood working machines including table saw, mitre saw, routers, nailer

  • Communicate effectively and professionally

  • Have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office

  • Forklift/Reach truck experience


 


Experience:



  • Production planning: 5 years (Required)

  • Production management: 5 years (Required)

  • Building and closing production orders or job tickets

  • Lean manufacturing: preferred

  • Power tools
