The Category Management Partner role will be a key member of the Enterprise Indirects Sourcing (EIS) Capital team. This role leads the strategic sourcing category management for the Capital category in support of the Sterile Injectable sites in the US and/or other sites/projects as required as well as procurement activities and systems that support business and operations in compliance with company policies.
The objective of this role is to continuously improve through innovative solutions the value, quality and service received by Pfizer within the assigned spend areas. In addition to exemplary sourcing and demand management practices, supplier relationship management, and risk management, this role requires significant data analysis, industry trending, and benchmarking to ensure proactive and innovative strategies are delivered in a timely manner aligned with current and future business requirements.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Category Strategy Design & Management
Develops strategies and provides guidance to others for delivery of exceptional category value to Pfizer stakeholders through the timely development, oversight, and delivery of global category strategies aligned with business needs
Supports the development of category strategies and partners with category execution teams for implementation, where applicable
Develop and maintain category plans that align with overall sourcing strategy and support near and long-term business objectives
Manages or provides support to large sourcing projects, directly supporting the execution of activities, where needed (e.g., requirements gathering, negotiations, sr. stakeholder business signoff, etc.)
Develops and applies comprehensive knowledge of market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies related to the categories managed, and incorporate new ideas and innovations into sourcing strategies
Develop and maintain value measurement methodology and process (by category)
Implements metrics to measure and continuously improve data-driven supplier outcomes
Drives visibility of unmanaged spend and strategy to increase managed spend
Leads data quality efforts led by Sourcing Intelligence team to ensure high quality category insights
Leads strategy for common category specific templates and tools (TCO / value chain models, term sheets, etc.)
Provides guidance to identify potential taxonomy amendments and data quality initiatives
Leads / Co-leads supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives related to managed categories, and promote responsible sourcing practices across the organization
Supplier Relationship Management
Contributes to the supplier relationship management process to optimize supplier performance and drive cost savings
Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers, negotiates terms and monitors performance against established KPIs
Leverages strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Leads regular business reviews with suppliers to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure excellent source value delivered to Pfizer in terms of quality, delivery, cost, and service levels
Drive supplier innovation by collaborating with supplier to identify new products, technologies, and process that can deliver exceptional value to Pfizer
Lead supplier segmentation strategy to categorize suppliers based on their criticality to the business, risk level, and potential for innovation and growth
Business Partner Relationship Ownership
Work with key stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement sourcing strategies that support business objectives and deliver value
Work independently to develop Global Category Strategy for the Capital category managed with business partners, ensuring alignment to category mgmt. value levers
Work independently for the business partners with relation to business needs for managed categories, ensuring alignment to global category strategy and maximizing category mgmt. value levers
Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, rationalization, and optimization, and implement appropriate supplier management strategies
Work independently with internal stakeholders, including business leaders and cross-functional teams, to understand business requirements and develop sourcing strategies that align with company goals and objectives
Reporting
Benchmark industry best practices in the assigned spend areas and lead the adoption within Pfizer as applicable
Continually evaluate and monitor market conditions and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly
QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business, Operations & Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
Demonstrated ability to be part of and contribute to complex, cross-functional projects
Business operations acumen and client engagement and customer relationship management skills
Experience managing and working with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively translate the high-level goals/vision into actionable items for the team
Ability to engage with senior executives/ business stakeholders to communicate and review decisions
Negotiation skills to be able to negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers
Comfort with ambiguity & ability to identify innovative sourcing strategies
5+ years of experience in sourcing & procurement with deep category management process expertise (3+ yrs for MBA/MS)
Track record of success in building partnerships and connections with respective business stakeholders to translate ideas into outcomes that meet business needs
Experience managing and working with cross-functional teams
Experience with supporting development of medium to high complexity negotiation contracts
Experience in Project Management / facilitating complex, cross-functional activities and teams
Knowledge
Strong understanding of the sourcing and contracting processes
Ability to understand end objectives/goals coming from executives
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software
Understanding of external supply markets and key industry trends / issues
Exposure to/comfort working with financial models (ex. scenario planning and forecasting)
Project management & communications skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or Master's degree in strategy, management, or related field is a plus
Similar procurement/Sourcing experience with similar Blue-chip organization
Certifications preferred: CPSM, CPM, PMP, MCIPS

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $84,200.00 to $140,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
