Your Role:
As a Senior EHS Specialist you will provide EHS support directly to those departments and employees involved in the GMP manufacturing of liquid Cell Culture Media, Supplements & Buffers, materials handling warehouse activities at the Broadway facility. Specific responsibilities include:
Conduct EHS-related training for affected employees within departments handling cell culture media
Ensure departmental personnel are competent in performing Risk Assessments and ensure necessary Risk Assessments are completed
Identify risk reduction methods and work with site management in implementing those methods
Conduct safety inspections and ensure departmental personnel are competent in performing safety inspections
Interact routinely with site management, supervision, and personnel on EHS related matters
Respond to and assist in investigation of employee injuries and area emergencies
Member of the Emergency Response Team with some on call duties
Physical Attributes:
Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, respirator, and gloves
Walk and climb steps routinely
May require work in ambient temperature and humidity environments
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or other EHS discipline
5+ years of experience in EHS in an ISO environment
Preferred qualifications:
Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals)
Proficient in ISO 45001 standards
knowledge of industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, including OSHA and EPA guidelines
Experience in public speaking, including conducting meetings and providing training for site personnel
