The OT Network Engineer I is responsible for guiding the selection, set up, and life cycle management of networking, communication, and control equipment for business units within FT I for customer facing projects. This role will assist in the deployment and release of new technologies ensuring the products fit within FT I standards and meet cyber security requirements. This role must have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work well individually or as part of a team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Management or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Experience: 1 or more years of experience in any of the following areas: Business Technology infrastructure and systems, Physical Security Systems, Industrial Automation and Control or Power Automation and Control. Virtual Machine setup and maintenance experience is a plus.
Travel: 10-25%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide subject matter expertise on technology components for outward facing projects working with design, construction, and manufacturing.
Aid in interfacing between internal resources and customer Business Technology groups ensuring communication and direction are fully understood.
Provide and track cyber security vetting for proposed components and programs by staying up to date on the latest trends and working with internal Business Technology resources.
Guide and/or perform initial setup of components, such as firewalls, routers, and servers based on developed standards and industry best practices.
Assist in coordination of life cycle management for installed products including hotfixes and patches released by manufacturers.
Provide technical assistance to external customers, Icians, technicians and engineers through the use of Business Technology Help Desk application.
Actively participates in Faith's hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
