We are hiring a qualified civilian Registered Nurse (MED SURG) to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our veterans and their families at Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, in Tacoma, Washington.
Status: Full-time
Compensation: $55 - $60.24/hr
Schedule: Monday Sunday, Various Scheduled Shifts Available; Actual shifts worked may include: 7:00AM-7:30PM, 7:00PM-07:30AM, 7:00AM -3:30PM, 11:00AM-7:30AM, 3:00PM-11:30PM and 11:00PM-7:30AM

The Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN) must have the following qualifications:
Degree/Education: A diploma, associate, bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in Nursing. Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Certification: BLS ( Basic Life Support)
Experience: One year of qualifying experience in the specialty is preferred.
Licensure/Registration: Current, active, valid, and unrestricted license or other authorizing document such as a certification or registration from any U.S. A license is a grant of permission to a health care professional by a recognized licensing agency of a State; the District of Columbia; the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the United States (U.S.) Virgin Islands; or other territory or possession of the U.S. to provide health care within the scope of practice for a specific health care discipline.
Job Summary:
Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice by all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Perform physical exams and health histories.
Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
Direct and supervise the care provided by other healthcare professionals.
Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergencies.
Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
Perform nursing services as identified in the official Task Order.
Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
