What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Transportation Manager who will direct the daily activities of hourly and temporary employees to meet the needs of our customers and help us win in the market.
What you'll do:
- Oversee employee job assignments including loading, shipping and receiving products, as well as office and clerical functions
- Participate in interviewing and hiring decisions of new employees
- Train new employees on equipment operation, shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and other warehouse responsibilities
- Monitor and coach employees on performance; conduct performance evaluations
- Assist with leading safety meetings and implementing safety initiatives
- Maintain attendance records and notify Regional Transportation Manager of policy violations
- Provide information to routers regarding equipment constraints, delivery windows and items to be redelivered. Communicate with warehouse management regarding loading issues
- Communicate customer profile information to routers to aid in file maintenance updates
- Perform functions requested by management/supervision
What you have:
- Class A driver license preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of current DOT regulations.
- Previous management experience required
- Prior experience as a dispatcher helpful but not required.
- Proficiency with basic software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel

- Communicating effectively with a wide range of individuals in verbal, written and interpersonal form
- Leading motivating and mentoring a diverse group of employees to achieve results through team effort
- Working in a high-pressure environment and exercising good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures
- Maintaining professionalism and reducing tension during times of conflict
- Challenging established practices and drawing relevant conclusions to sell new ideas within department
