The Project Manager/Sales Estimator will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the organization's research, development, and product implementation efforts. The Project Manager/Sales Estimator is responsible for a combination of planning and execution of activities related to the delivery of projects for their teams.
When executing on project delivery, Project Leads are responsible for the success of one or more projects within a given timeline and budget, creation, and maintenance of status reports, proactively managing issues and risks, and working with 3rd party partners. The Project Manager/Sales Estimator is responsible for contracting profitable work and building relationships with new accounts.
*Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Lead an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
* Outline the tasks involved in the project and delegate accordingly.
* Conduct cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
* Prepare and implement a budget based on estimates.
* Conduct risk assessments: reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
* Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
* Act as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
* Communicate and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
* Understand construction fundamentals while being able to read and comprehend construction documents.
* Perform tasks such as downloading documents, setting up folders, completing Excel and Word documents.
* Work closely with other sales staff to complete estimates efficiently and accurately.
* Data entry for companywide job tracking purposes.
* Responsible for preliminary system layout and design for estimating of projects.
* Communication with AHJ or other governing agencies.
* Responsible for writing and submitting RFIs during the bidding phase of the project.
* Attendance of RFP sales meetings as mandated by manager.
* Responsible for code research related to projects as required.
* Complete and maintain contractor and owner pre-qualification forms as required.
* Manage project portal websites.
* Meet with clients.
* Occasional to moderate domestic travel as required.
* Establish and maintain a continuing positive relationship with new and existing accounts.
* Identify and analyze customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
* Provide regular feedback and reports regarding performance.
* Acts as a company representative with potential customers and clients.
* Perform other duties assigned by management.
*Education/Qualification:*
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 3+ years of estimating and selling fire protection services required
* 3+ years of related experience in Fire and Safety industry required
* PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable
* Working knowledge of estimating tools and forms
* Technically proficient in applicable design standards and codes
*Other Duties:*
* Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* This position may encounter light lifting of materials for delivery.
* Onsite demands would require walking and standing for long periods of time, climbing and descending ladders/steps.
