Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation for defense systems, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and usability for Navy customers and front-line decision makers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create, validate, and maintain technical procedures, user guides, release notes, and troubleshooting guides.
Ensure user-focused, high-quality documentation throughout all stages of product development, from design through operation.
Generate, review, and edit clear and concise documentation that meets DoD MIL standards and style guides.
Contribute to documentation tools and processes, including style guides, version control, and review workflows.
Work closely with engineering to ensure documentation accuracy, compliance, and usability for technical and non-technical users.
Apply advanced knowledge of English language structure, grammar, and composition for effective written communication.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience creating technical documentation for informed, technical audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and PDF management.
Familiarity with DoD MIL standards and version control best practices.
Technical Skills:
Experience with digital collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint; familiarity with document automation platforms like PandaDoc is a plus.
Basic development knowledge to support technical best practices in documentation systems.
Communication: Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ability to adapt content for varied audiences.
