Job Description:
The Chemistry Department at the State University of New York at Binghamton anticipates one tenure-track faculty opening in Physical Chemistry at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates with research interests in physical aspects of chemistry, biochemistry and chemical biology with an emphasis on computational methods, or a combination of computational/experimental approaches, are especially encouraged to apply. The Chemistry Department's strategic plan anticipates growth in biological, materials and environmental research. The successful applicant will develop an externally funded research program as a faculty member in the Chemistry Department as well as the recently approved Biochemistry and Chemical Biology (BCCB) Graduate Program at Binghamton University. The Chemistry Department is housed in the Smart Energy Building, a state-of-the-art research facility with access to core facilities serving a large community of scientists in chemistry and other STEM disciplines.
Requirements:
Potential candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology or a related field with postdoctoral research experience and a proven track record of publication; outstanding organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
