Become a key player in the Learning & Media Design team at Washington State University's Global Campus as a Global Campus Media Designer! Key Responsibilities:
Multimedia Content Creation: Oversee the entire digital content and video production process, ensuring effective communication of key messages.
Pedagogical Alignment: Ensure content aligns with best practices in online education, incorporating modern instructional design theories.
Content Revision and Enhancement: Regularly update and transform traditional teaching materials into engaging, media-rich formats.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high quality standards for all digital learning materials, ensuring error-free and visually appealing content.
Compliance & Regulations: Support the goal of helping faculty understand how to ensure their content complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and copyright regulations related to media elements.
Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to implement and support instructional technologies.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing learning to stay updated on best practices in technology-mediated instruction.
Travel: up to 10% annually.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, computer science or related field AND three (3) years of professional experience in instructional design and/or instructional technology such as audio/visual, learning management systems, multimedia, video production or IT resources. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new technologies on an ongoing basis
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships with stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to influence and support others in the adoption of technology
Demonstrated experience in graphic design (Adobe Illustrator or similar)
Demonstrated ability to operate camera and audio equipment operation
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in instructional technology or instructional design or closely related field
Demonstrated understanding in guiding the use of technology to facilitate teaching and learning
Demonstrated experience with any of the following: eLearning software, Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition), or similar software with a minimum expectation of non-linear video editing software
3D Modeling, Animation & Simulation (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar)
Demonstrated experience in JavaScript
Demonstrated experience in Articulate Storyline
Work Location:
This hybrid position will primarily be remote; the successful candidate will need to reside within reasonable driving distance of the Pullman, WA WSU campus to occasionally complete pre-production and video production work onsite.
Hybrid positions will require signing a telework agreement. Minimum technical requirements include an internet bandwidth of 4.0 Mbps for upload and download. The Learning Innovations initiative serves to discover, implement, and support academic technology that increases faculty efficiency and enhances student access and engagement. Academic Outreach and Innovation (AOI) works with all faculty-both on campus and online-to create an environment where innovative pedagogy can flourish, wise experimentation is supported, and all learners receive the most robust and rewarding educational experience possible.

Monthly Salary: $4,061.90 - $4,569.63 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
